AVID installs Micro Hybrid systems on heavy duty vehicles such as buses and construction machinery. The systems are fully supported by AVID in the field. The system uses AVID’s high performance EMP electronic cooling fans, an electronic controller and a new heat exchanger design to create a highly efficient thermal management system.
The system reduces parasitic loads on the diesel engine and allows operating temperature to be optimised to reduce fuel consumption and improve efficiency. There are currently over 3000 systems installed on vehicles throughout the world delivering fuel savings up to 15% and a corresponding reduction in greenhouse gas and toxic exhaust emissions.
